Firstly before I start this shoot report I along with Sharon would like to say a huge thanks to a wonderful host Karen for putting us up for the night and for the great Bar-B-Que on Saturday night before the shoot. The grounds are quite a long drive for us, so being able to stay over the night before was great. Anyway back to the important thing for you, the shoot report.

Archery 3DA series

Archery 3DA series
The other weekend Sharon and I had the opportunity to shoot a different style of archery competition to the normal NFAS shoots we attend. We shot a couple of the rounds of the 3DAs, being hosted at Long Eatons grounds. You can find the full details of the 3DA tournaments on their website https://www.3darchery.co.uk/So for us it would have a different scoring system, a different…

Archers gathering for the NFAS 3D championships

Archers gathering for the NFAS 3D championships

Sorry all , I have been pretty slow on writing up shoot reports recently as been focusing on the coaching articles for the “Hardest things in archery series”.  I think I have two or three shoot reports to type up, so please be  patient.
Anyways in May 2017 the Organised Chaos teamwere setting one of the courses for the NFAS 3D championships. If…

Sharons bow and arrow set up

Showing the brace height and cresting

We all know how important it is to have your bow setup right and ensure it is at the correct brace height. I wanted to offer a quick tip to all archers out there for checking your brace height on your bow, which doesn’t involve having a rule.

When I made up the last batch of arrows for Sharon, I crested them in colours to match her fletchings, are pink and…

Not so good Premier Inn stay

Not impressive notice

Okay this is going to sound a bit of a rant and I’m sorry in advance, also it has nothing really to do with archery more to do with poor customer service from a leading hotel chain.

At the 3D championships a few weeks back we had booked into a Premier Inn as we didn’t fancy camping and wanted a relaxing location. What a mistake that was. I don’t think I would class it as the premier inn from…

The hardest lessons to learn in archery are…

I’ve had a great response to my question “What they feel is the hardest lesson to learn?” and for that I would like to thank all my followers and readers for their input.
I know that there are many people out there that will have your own opinion on what they feel is the hardest lesson to learn, but based on the responses, there are a few things coming up time and time again.

  • Aiming or rather, how…

Data protection changes and GDPR in archery

Data protection changes and GDPR in archery

Okay, so this is not the normal sort of thing to find on an archery blog, but I don’t think it can have escaped many peoples notice that the Data Protection laws in the UK are changing. Chances are you’ve had emails from different websites you’ve subscribed to asking for you to agree to new terms and conditions. In other words the dreaded GDPR, with a fast approaching deadline of the 25th of May…

Remember to wax your string

Remember to wax your string

Just a quick post about strings and keeping them in a god condition. With the outdoor season now in full swing I have been shooting in a new string over the last few days and thought it worth reminding people that waxing your string is pretty important, but often forgotten.

Before you start make sure the string it clean of any mud or grime. Also make sure it is dry,…

First Aid Kit

It is the time of year when the days have been getting longer and we are out more often. Some will be out on two day shoots, camping in some beautiful British countryside, or maybe course laying in readiness for the shoot.  The downside of the warmer days is it results in me having to start taking antihistamine tablets due to slight hay fever and possibility of insect bites.
I’m pretty lucky, as…

The Push Podcasts

It’s been a while since I’ve written a review, other than shoot reports,  so here goes, hopefully you’ll find it useful and interesting. This is kind of a part literature review and general review as I am going to be reviewing a podcast site, which some of you may already be aware of. In recent months I’ve been listening to The Push Archery podcasts.
Here is a link to their…
